The Big Move!!

Back in February 2011 a job announcement was sent to all the appraisers in Utah by mail from Washington County about a Certified Appraiser position. I was so excited to receive this. We had always wanted to move to St. George and I was in a job that I wasn’t particularly happy with. So after talking about it with Andrew we decided that it would be a good time for me to try for the job. I applied and got a call 3 weeks later for an interview. I traveled to St. George early that morning... Interviewed and then took the 50 question test that followed. After the test on the drive home I knew I was for sure not getting the job. That test was hard and it made me feel stupid. About a week later I got a call for a second interview, which really surprised me (there were 48 people who applied).  Again, I went down and interviewed, but had to stay the night because I needed to interview with the Assessor the next day because he was out of town. After those interviews I didn’t know what to expect, but it was narrowed down to 2 of us. I was excited I made it this far in the process (I guess I should have more faith in myself!). Andy had sat down with his boss and was approved to work from home in St. George!! I heard through some of my “references” that they were calling about me.  A few days later I got the call from Art Partridge!! I GOT THE JOB! We were so excited, nervous, scared, happy,  pretty much any emotion you could have, it was going on. It was a new adventure, a new beginning!

They were kind enough to give me 6 weeks to quit my job and move, which was close enough to when school ended for the year. We went to St. George a couple weekends in a row house shopping. We found one and after a little negotiating our offer was accepted, our house in Heber was rented and absolutely EVERYTHING was falling into place. It felt like this was the right thing and everything was landing in its spot at the right time. It was absolutely amazing.

We closed on our home May 13^th and moved our stuff in May 14^th. We lived with my parents for 3 weeks and I started my job May 31^st. We love where we live, we love our new home, we love our neighbors, I love my new job, Andy loves working from home. It is all Good!

The 2010 year in a Nutshell!

Here is a small recap of some of the Highlights and Lowlights from 2010:
We were blessed to take many mini-vacations to Southern Utah. We also ran many running events: Hurricane 5k, Spectrum 10k, Homestead 15k and Swiss Days 10k (with AJ) and then Andy’s 5th St. George Marathon in October. Holly and Anycia also did the Woman of Steel Triathlon in American Fork, Utah. Anycia took 2nd in her age group.

We had other exciting things happen with Anycia graduating High School (Now a Freshman at SUU), Kennedi turning 1, Kamri turning 3, Jadyn turning 8 and getting baptized, AJ turning 16 and driving and McKade getting his Scouting - Arrow of Light Award! Andy’s Park City Indoor Flag Football team went undefeated and won the Superbowl. Also… Andy, Anycia, and AJ teamed up with his friend Tommy (and son TJ) in Roosevelt for a 3 on 3 soccer tourney for UBIC.

On the flip side of things we had some tough times with Andy’s Dad (Mike) passing away in June (at 67), and Holly’s Grandpa (Grant Jensen) passing away at the young age of 101! In July, Andy tried catching a Softball with his non-glove hand and popped his knuckle and also ripped off his finger nail (7 stitches), and then on Halloween he did an interesting trick (not treat) and had an emergency appendectomy. Also, we had a minor flood in our kitchen requiring new flooring in the kitchen and dining room. (parlayed into new flooring in family room too!)

Over Thanksgiving we were able to spend a week in Las Vegas for a Yergensen family reunion (and memorial), the kids were able to do a zip line at Fremont Street and rides at the Circus Circus Adventuredome, and play tennis and basketball at the Rental House when they weren’t jumping in the Jacuzzi or playing with cousins.
Well that is our year in a nutshell (not everything, but most). We have had a wonderful and busy year with our ups and downs!
Life is good at the Yergensen Household! We are very blessed to be happy and healthy!

Summer 2010

I haven't posted in a long time. Our summer has been crazy and this is my attempt at starting to catch up. Here is Andy, Anycia and AJ at Anycia's High School graduation.

Andy plays in a golf tournament in Price every year. Kamri, Kennedi, and I went with him this year. We arrived Friday night to the Holiday Inn. They had us in a one bed handicapped room. I had a guarantee 2 bed room. I have worked in the hotel industry and understand when you get busy that things just don’t work out properly but if you are guaranteed a 2 bed room I want it. So I had to show her my confirmation and then they finally changed us rooms. After that we went swimming and then settled down in our room. Andy got up the next morning to play golf, which he shot a 78. The girls and I went to McDonald's for breakfast and played in the play place. Then we went to Walmart for a few items and for items I didn’t need but got anyways. We waited for Andy to get done golfing then went to lunch at Ricardo’s Restaurant. It was good. We then went to the Dinosaur museum. Afterwards went back for a much needed nap. They didn’t sleep long. We got ready and went to the golf tourney steak dinner at the country club. Then went to the park and off to bed. The next day Andy went golfing again and shot 81. When he was done we went back and sure enough he got 1st place in his division. Way to go! After spending his money in the pro shop we drove home. It was a nice little vacation with the little girls.

So I‘ve been a HUGE slacker when it comes to my blog. So I will try and catch up on what has been going on in our lives…where to begin?

The month of May…we went to St. George for Andy to run the Hurricane Half Marathon with my sister Mari and Ty. We hit Provo, only a half hour from home and Kamri vomits everywhere, all over her, all over the car, all over her car seat! So we hit a Kmart tried to clean it up and bought a bucket and air fresheners. She didn’t feel well the whole trip. But we had fun and it was warm and sunny which is what we needed.

The month of June…we had family come visit. Andy’s mom (Grandma Marylin) came from Texas and his brother’s family (Chris, Val, Leif (4), and Liv (2))came from California. They stayed with us for 2 weeks…which it rained most of the time. We went to the Kamas pool and we got Leif to go down the big slide by himself…we also got Grandma Marylin to go down who is deathly afraid of heights! She said it was so much fun. We were so proud of them both for taking the challenge. We also went to seven peaks and had a fun day at the water park.

We have also been working on our backyard. We were hoping it would have been done by the time they arrived but it wasn’t. We are still working on the yard and it would probably have been done but the weather has not cooperated! Top soil is going down this weekend and sod comes Monday! WAHOO!

AJ and Anycia had teams that went to the Utah Summer Games. Both teams took the silver home. Great Job!

I am back at work now. I came back June 29th. It’s a hard transition to make but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Andy is working hard on the yard. He borrowed a tractor from our Bishop which was very helpful in moving the dirt around. AJ has been here to help too and he has been a great little helper! Andy is not a big handy man and he has dug trenches, put in and connected sprinkler pipe, drove a tractor and moved dirt, and set the sprinklers! I am so proud of him! He has done such a super job!

We got Anycia a job at the Dairy Keen. So she has been working a little and playing a little and getting into trouble a little. She now has a boyfriend named Paul who she hangs out with a lot. SCARY!

AJ has been here for 2 weeks. He has helped a lot on the yard and with the kids.

McKade is at his Great Grandparents house in Escalante. He got to stay for a week and is enjoying every moment. If he got his way he would have stayed all summer. He’s been fishing, feeding chickens, etc.

Jadyn just turned 7 on June 23rd. Coach Pitch just got over for her. Andy was her coach.

Kamri is talking a whole lot more and running around like a crazy girl. She tries to keep up with the older kids…and she does quite well. She is a very protective big sister and tries to help out with Kennedi.

Kennedi is a chunk! A cute little fatty! She is smiling and making more noises. She loves to be held and is spoiled rotten. (She is the baby of the family) She is now 12 weeks old.

So our summer is going great and everyone is healthy and happy! What more can we ask for…

We had a nice visit with Andy's family last Friday. Grandpa Mike and Grandma Donna came out for a doctor visit to the VA and on their way back to the Farm in Myton, they stopped to see Kennedi for the first time. Matt, Chelsea and the twins showed up shortly after. It was a lot of fun watching Kamri play with her cousins from Roosevelt.

I want to post some delivery details for remembering in the future while they are fresh on my mind...

The morning of April 11, I woke up with Kamri around 7:30 and had contractions about 20 minutes apart...Andy had to work the night before so he was downstairs sleeping and I didn't want to wake him until they started getting closer. So around 9 I went and woke him up and told him they were ten minutes apart. He said if they get closer to come wake him again. About 9:30 Kamri missed her Daddy and woke him up for me...not because I asked her to but because she missed him. So he got up. Finally around 11 my contractions were about 6-7 minutes apart so I told Andrew that we should go just in case. Kamri was born within 15 minutes of arriving at the hospital and I didn't want to take that chance again. (We did wait too long to go to the hospital) So we arrived and got the last room in the OB. I got all hooked up to the machines and come to find out I was only dilated to a 4, but my contractions were painful and consistent so they kept me. I got my epidural around 2 and I was dilated to a 7, they broke my water at 2:30 and the little one came at 3:50 in the afternoon.

Now for the gory details...I thought my epidural was working until I started to push and I could feel almost everything. Three pushes and she was here...but the bad thing was when they were trying to get the placenta out...well the umbilical cord came out but the placenta didn't. So he tried to get it without having to go inside...he used prongs and other things but finally he just put his hand inside and eventually pulled it out...this part of the labor was way more painful than actually delivering. (Yes I felt like a turkey!)

My sister, Megan, came to watch because she was curious as to how things worked. She doesn't have any kids yet. She said that it was the coolest thing she has ever seen. She said she just wanted to cry when she saw the head coming out. The only time she got nauseous was when the doctor started to stitch me up...she said the needle was a big hook and it was huge! It was a pretty cool experience to have her there.

Another thing that happened...my doctor who is Dr. Tayler was suppose to be out of town that weekend and so we thought...so Dr. Graham was the one on call and he was the one who actually delivered Kennedi. Come to find out that my Dr. hadn't gone on vacation after all and had never told the nurses he was going...they just took our word for it. Anyways it all turned out just fine. Dr. Tayler wasn't too happy with the nurses because he actually stayed in town because he had two of us who might go into labor.

All in all we are healthy and happy hanging out at home! Kennedi was a little backwards at first when it came to the sleeping at night but now she just wakes up to eat. We are happy she has arrived and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

Well I have 10 Days until my due date. Saturday the 4th was my 2 weeks mark of when I usually go into labor and have my little ones but not this little one. She must not want to come join the world just yet. So here I am waiting...and waiting...and waiting...every little braxton hicks contraction I get I just wait for it to get worse or keep going every few minutes...but nothing. So the waiting goes on. Hopefully the pregnancy will end...

The best little quote I have recieved so far is..."I have never known someone to be pregnant forever!" with laughter after!

March Madness

A few things are out of the way…now the baby can come any day!

Andy is back from his “Boys” weekend in St. George. Which consists of golfing, gambling, golfing, and more golfing. Oh, but he also ran the Spectrum 10k with AJ.

I told him to do a trip before I had the baby because he won’t be leaving me for a while… I have never had two kids under the age of two before…two in diapers, two needing lots of attention. So he is stuck with me…poor guy! He came home exhausted…

We have bought our fun outdoor playset for the backyard that will be finished this year. I can’t wait until it is done…Kamri will have a hay day outside all summer long. She is our outdoor girl…she would live out there if she could.

I have finally passed my six hour certification test. I am now a Certified Residential Appraiser!

McKade performed in the Disney program at school. They practice and rehearse for months for this big performance. This is a very BIG performance for the 3rd grade class. They have wonderful costumes and have to learn songs and dances. McKade was Zazu from the Lion King. He had a lead role of singing “I just can’t wait to be king” and he did a great job. He also had a lead role in “Trashin’ the Camp” from Tarzan. He did great in that too. I was such a proud mom!

Anycia’s Prom is over too. It happened on Saturday March 21st. She was asked by Joe Horner to go to their Junior Prom in front of the school over the announcements in TV broadcasting!
Their date consisted of: snowmobiling in the morning, ate Café Rio for lunch, came home got ready for the dance and went and ate at a fancy ($25 and up a plate) Italian restaurant on Park City Main Street. We got to watch her promenade at the school, which was the last one at that school because they will be in the new High School next year.

It was lots of fun. Andy had never been to a promenade before. He was very impressed at how much fun prom was for the kids. He was such a proud Dad. Anycia looked beautiful and had a wonderful time on her date.

For those of you who don’t know what the promenade is…it is for the Juniors because it is the Junior Prom. Prom is for the whole High School they just don’t promenade. They learn a dance with their date to perform in front of their families. Then after their little performance they dance with their parents. Anycia danced with her dad and step dad. Then the parents leave and the kids have their prom. It is a great way to show off their dresses and make them feel super important!

So now that all the events are over (well for now anyways) we can have this little princess anytime. I was officially 36 weeks on Saturday. So the count down is on. I have always been two weeks early and I am hoping that will happen again. So the predicted date is April 4th. Just because I am hoping to go two weeks early will mean I won’t and I will probably go longer than my due date…that would be so frustrating! Oh well, the longer I wait the longer I have off in the summer time! WAHOO!

County Basketball is over for the year!

Which doesn't last too long then we have to go play in the hallway and luckily the other gym was open and she could run in there...She doesn't stay still...wiggle wiggle wiggle all the time. Usually hopping (we call her hopper) or running around!
Here is Jadyn and Kamri in the other gym. They were running around and having fun. McKade is up on top of the bleachers. He was also running around and being a goof ball.

Here is my gansta husband playing basketball. They lost the championship being tied with 4 seconds left in the game. Andy threw the ball in bounds to Rocki, then Rocki tried to get it back to Andy but it got stolen and they scored and the game was over! SORRY BOYS! It was a good game and they should have won. They were dominating the game.

Andy played great! 3 pointers and free throw shooting...SWOOSH! Good Job Baby!

Flag football is still going on til the end of March then kiddie soccer comes mid April and Coed Softball in May! Sports are never ending in our house. But what can I say we love it! BUSY BUSY BUSY!

Anniversary Night ALONE!!

Well our Annniversary was on the 18th but we had planned for a night away on the 21st. It was the only gift I wanted. This was the first night away from Kamri. It was hard but well worth it. My parents were ever so kind in watching Kamri over night.

So we dropped Kamri off around 4 on Saturday and took off to SLC for an over night stay at Little America. We checked in and lounged for a bit. We decided we needed to go try Cheesecake Factory for dinner. So around 8:30 we took off to find it. We arrived and walked in...to our surprise it was packed...even at 8:30 at night...we finally got seated around 9:20ish. We ate too much food. We were so so stuffed! In other words it was good food! Then after went back to the hotel and crashed. When you eat that much food you have to just crash.

We woke up and went to the pool. Andy swam a little and I just relaxed. After we got ready to check out and go eat. The brunch was closed in our hotel so we went to The Grand America Hotel for their brunch. It was really good and I didn't over eat this time! Then we went home to get Kamri...she had a rough night without us. So she was super super cranky.

Overall we had a wonderful time...after this little one arrives we probably won't get a night alone for a while.

Time to Complain....Bare with me!

So I hate to post negative things and I hate to complain, but at this time I just think it will make me feel better. I might delete this later...Here it goes...

This pregnancy has been the worst one I have had. This is number 4 and the last...but the worst. I have never counted down the time so much as I have on this one. Not so sure if it is because I know it is my last and I am just ready to be done and start to get my body back. I feel so fat, so uncomfortable, so worn out, so tired all the time, No energy...and the list goes on. So a couple things I have decided...I am a depressed pregnant woman. I learn I am pregnant, which I am very excited about yet I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat, and eat...well you get the point. I end up gaining so much weight that about this time in my pregnancy I get depressed and just want it to be over! The past couple days my Arthritis has come back in my right ankle and foot...well I think it is my arthritis it could be from when I chipped the bone in my ankle from bad sprain in December. It too is very uncomfortable.

I usually have really easy pregnancies and easy labor and delivery...this one being so much harder than the other ones worry me! So one of my more recent fears of having the baby is that this baby will be the hardest labor I have had and eventually have to have a C-Section . I know I am worrying about things I have no control over. My other fear is that I have this baby in March when my husband is gone on his golf weekend. I keep having this dream that I have this little one without him and I don't want that to happen...my dream is that I have contractions but I don't want to worry him because they are not too bad and I wouldn't want him to come home and nothing happen so I don't worry him but then all the sudden they are 2 minutes apart and by the time I can get a hold of him I am on my way to the hospital...yes another dumb dream (I have really strange dreams when I am pregnant) I just don't want it to happen. More than likely it won't and I am just being a worry wart. So those are my complaints and paranoia's...thanks for reading. I sure do feel a little better now!

Happy Anniversary, Andrew!

On this day 3 years ago, February 18, 2006, was the most magical day I have ever experienced! I married the man of my dreams! It was snowing BIG fluffy snow flakes just like the day he asked me to marry him! It was perfect in every way. The ceremony, dinner, dancing…but the best part about it was marrying Andrew Scott Yergensen and making him mine forever! He is perfect in every single way! I adore him and would do absolutely anything for him! I am so in love and so happy! Thanks for being my husband and loving me! You are everything I have ever hoped for and imagined my husband would be! You will forever be my best friend, lover, and husband! You will always be my lover boy, sexy back, baby, sweet pea, love bug…Always pamember and never formget!

I love you with all my heart and that will never change!

Happy Anniversary (3 Years)

Dear Holly, Wow! It has been a fast 3 years, and so many things have happened. We bought our house together, and had a beautiful daughter, we've coached McKade and Jadyn, and cheered on Anycia and AJ in their games...we played co-ed softball together, run a few races: 5k's and even the Provo Half Marathon. In a another month you will be giving me another beautiful daughter. I am so thankful to be married to you, and I know I am the luckiest guy in the world because I get to kiss you any time I want! Thanks for being my Hot Stuff Pizza!

My Valentine!

My dear sweet husband, Andrew, is my valentine! He is the love of my life. The sweetest man I know. I love him with all my heart!

I absolutely adore everything about him! I love his sense of humor, his love for his children, his love for me, his sweet smell, his love for sports and competition, the way he takes care of us, the way he walks and talks, the way he smiles, the way he laughs, the way he gets excited about sports on TV and yells, the way he is involved with the community, I could go on and on but that would take too long so I will just say... I love him and everything about him!

Junior Prom

Anycia got asked the other day to the Junior Prom. She is so excited. She is a worry wart and has been thinking she wouldn't get asked...so her attitude went from grumpy to flying high! Now we get to go dress shopping, watch the promenade, and all that fun stuff!
