Kennedi to "Abbi"

Kennedi decided one day that she should be called Addison (her middle name). If you asked her what her name was she would reply Addison.  So Jadyn started calling her Addi this and Addi that. Soon after that she started saying her name was Abbi. So for the past few weeks we have had an Abbi at our house. And she will let you know that it is Abbi.
Me: “Kennedi, what ya doin?” Her: “My name not Kennedi, It's Abbi!”

She definitely has a mind of her own. She is a sweetheart and we love her so much!

Coed Softball Tournament Toys for Tots

Andy got a phone call from some friends from Heber asking him to play in a softball tournament because they had some people bailout on them. It was a toys for tots charity softball tournament consisting of 83 teams. Everyone on the team donates a $10 toy for charity. That is 830 toys or $8300 worth of toys! WOWZA! That is so awesome!

Anyways, the games started Friday night. They had 2 games, won one and lost one. But they had a girl playing that was 7 months pregnant and she wasn’t doing to hot at the second game. So Andy offered to her that I could take her place if she wasn’t feeling well tomorrow. Yep, she wasn’t feeling so well so we got the call for me to play. I hadn’t played in probably 3 ½ years. I struck out the first time but hit each time I was up after that. I was so proud of myself! (Yes, I am lame!) It was lots of fun and I got to play 2 games with my awesome hubby and our kids watched and cheered us on!

Andrew's Birthday

My dear sweet handsome sexy husband turned 43 this year! We didn’t do much for his birthday (I have been slacking). We went to Las Vegas and went shopping. He got a new luggage bag for his traveling and a shirt. I know, I know, I am a HUGE slacker! Sorry baby, but you have everything already;) Just know I love you and hope you had a great birthday!

Thanksgiving

This year we decided to stay in our new home. Normally we go to my parents for their Thanksgiving on Sunday, but thought we should go up for the Christmas party instead. Anycia and AJ went to their mom’s and McKade and Jadyn went to their Dad’s. So we had Kam and Kenn with us. We made a little Thanksgiving dinner of Ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, and stuffing. For dessert Andy made is famous popcorn that we all love! It was fun with just the little ones but we missed all of us being together.
On Friday (Andy’s Birthday) we drove to Grandma Donna’s in Las Vegas to hangout, see her and wait for Matt, Chelsea, and cousins to join us. We had a good time visiting and playing.

All-American Girl Pageant

Jadyn had the opportunity to be in a pageant. Our neighbor friend, Callie Horne, is an All-American Girl for the state of Utah in Little Miss Division. Her mom was putting on a pageant here in St. George and 2 nights before the pageant Callie and Jadyn came begging for her to be in it. So after the begging was over and Andy and I talked about it we agreed she could do it. Luckily we had 3 different outfits/dresses for her to wear. Callie and her mom taught Jadyn how to walk, what to say, etc. She did really well for her first time and she absolutely loved it! She won most beautiful! She is our little beauty queen!

Halloween

Our neighbors had a Halloween party the Saturday before Halloween. Andy and I even dressed up as pirates. It was lots of fun and the kids did a little dance to “Thriller”, taught to them by a 13 year old. It was great.

This year was the first year in a long time the kids could wear their costumes and not have to put big heavy coats over them. We had the privilege of the Dixon’s staying with us to trick-or-treat. Jadyn was a pink pirate along with her friend Callie, Kamri was Lemon from Strawberry shortcake, Kenn was Minnie Mouse. Aliya was the Little Mermaid, and Brad was Lightning McQueen from Cars.  It was fun and they all looked to cute!

St. George Marathon

Another St. George marathon has come and gone, but another memorable moment! We had a pasta party at our house for the runners to get some carbs in them. It was lots of fun.
The runners this year were Andy and AJ Yergensen, Kris Thacker, and Shawn, and Trish Holmes.  This was AJ’s and Trish’s first marathon! They both kicked some bootie! AJ ran it in 3:21:04 he won the silver shoe award (1st Southern Utah resident in his age group to cross finish line) and got 3rd in his age group. Andy, Shawn, and Trish all ran together for most of it. Andy’s time 4:24:46 Shawn’s time 4:17:25 Trish’s time 4:17:25. They ran to have a good time and to finish strong. They all did and they all survived. Kris ran very well too her time 4:26:44.

Andy seeing the kids and going over to say HI!

Kris Thacker stopping to say Hello!

Tricia with a thumbs up and Shawn sticking his tongue out!
They don't seem tired at all!

We are always proud of the runners. It is a super long distance of 26.2 miles and all the training that goes into completing one. Way to go runners!

Running...Running...Running...

AJ has been running with the Cross Country team. He has been getting up in the mornings to run and then running at night too. It is super hot most days and he gets into an ice bath afterwards for his muscles. He is getting good and fast. We knew he could do it! Great job AJ!

McKade and AJ's Birthdays

September 9th was Kade’s 12 birthday. We had cake and unwrapped some gifts. (He is now taller than me and wearing a size 10.5 men’s shoe!)  He is a good kid who loves to annoy/tease his sisters. He loves the computer games and Xbox. He is really enjoying football right now too. Happy Birthday Kaders!

McKade

AJ

AJ turned 17 on September 11. He got an early birthday present running spike shoes for cross country. He hangs with his friends, loves the Xbox, loves lifting weights and helps when needed. Happy Birthday AJ Buddy!

Football

McKade decided he wanted to play football this year. I signed him up for a full contact football league. I didn’t think he would like it much and thought I would have to push him to practice and to the games, but man was I ever wrong. HE LOVES IT! He was ready 2 hours before practice began and 2 hours before games began. Took him a little bit to get the hang of how it all worked because he had never played before, but by the end of the season he was a star! I am really proud of my little (not so little) football player! Way to go Kade!

Jadyn and Zak (cousin)
Over the Labor day weekend we traveled up north for Swiss Days in Midway and then on to a campout at my sisters cabin in Hyrum. We had a blast camping, eating, and playing with cousins. I finally got a haircut after 3 months and decided to change my hair color to dark brown!

Jadyn Turns 9

Jadyn’s Birthday

On June 23rd, Jadyn turned 9 years old this year. She is a beautiful young lady who loves to take care of her sisters. Our newest motto in our home “Don’t leave a sister behind!” and she does pretty good at taking care of them and including them. She loves to play with our new neighbors and is a good helper!

Happy Birthday Jady-Poo!

The Big Move!!

Back in February 2011 a job announcement was sent to all the appraisers in Utah by mail from Washington County about a Certified Appraiser position. I was so excited to receive this. We had always wanted to move to St. George and I was in a job that I wasn’t particularly happy with. So after talking about it with Andrew we decided that it would be a good time for me to try for the job. I applied and got a call 3 weeks later for an interview. I traveled to St. George early that morning... Interviewed and then took the 50 question test that followed. After the test on the drive home I knew I was for sure not getting the job. That test was hard and it made me feel stupid. About a week later I got a call for a second interview, which really surprised me (there were 48 people who applied).  Again, I went down and interviewed, but had to stay the night because I needed to interview with the Assessor the next day because he was out of town. After those interviews I didn’t know what to expect, but it was narrowed down to 2 of us. I was excited I made it this far in the process (I guess I should have more faith in myself!). Andy had sat down with his boss and was approved to work from home in St. George!! I heard through some of my “references” that they were calling about me.  A few days later I got the call from Art Partridge!! I GOT THE JOB! We were so excited, nervous, scared, happy,  pretty much any emotion you could have, it was going on. It was a new adventure, a new beginning!

They were kind enough to give me 6 weeks to quit my job and move, which was close enough to when school ended for the year. We went to St. George a couple weekends in a row house shopping. We found one and after a little negotiating our offer was accepted, our house in Heber was rented and absolutely EVERYTHING was falling into place. It felt like this was the right thing and everything was landing in its spot at the right time. It was absolutely amazing.

We closed on our home May 13th and moved our stuff in May 14th. We lived with my parents for 3 weeks and I started my job May 31st. We love where we live, we love our new home, we love our neighbors, I love my new job, Andy loves working from home. It is all Good!
